All overnight guests in Wernigerode and Schierke receive a guest card, which also includes a "HATIX ticket" for free use of local public transport in the Harz district.
The Harz Card also entitles you to reduced admission fees and discounts at many tourist service providers.
The GUEST CARD is issued to all guests staying in Wernigerode and its districts of Schierke, Reddeber, Minsleben, Silstedt and Benzingerode. When you arrive at your accommodation, your host or hostess will give you a guest card with your details (name, date of arrival and departure, name of accommodation). It doesn't matter whether you are staying in a hotel, guesthouse, holiday flat or holiday room.
With the GUEST CARD you can use all local public bus transport in the Harz Mountains free of charge. Please have the GUEST CARD ready when boarding the bus.
The Harz holiday ticket, or HATIX for short, allows free travel on all public bus and tram lines throughout the Harz Mountains.
The HATIX ticket is available to all overnight guests in the participating towns and villages in the Harz.
In Wernigerode and its districts of Schierke, Reddeber, Minsleben and Benzingerode, the guest card includes the Harz holiday ticket.
The guest card is issued by the host on arrival at the accommodation to all overnight guests who are required to pay the tourist tax.
The HarzCard offers free admission to over 120 facilities in the Harz region, such as castles and palaces, museums and exhibitions, caves and mines, gardens and parks, swimming pools and other leisure facilities.

All persons subject to the spa tax will receive a coupon booklet at their accommodation. With the coupons contained therein, you can take advantage of discounts at various companies in Wernigerode and Schierke.
