chocolART 2026
A heartfelt talk by Jan Koppelin about his friendship with the Kogi people of Colombia.

For the Kogi, the cacao plant was once so sacred that they would lower their gaze out of reverence. Jan Koppelin discusses their spiritual connection to cacao, their life in harmony with nature, and the messages they have for their “younger brothers” in the West.

Jan Koppelin, a cultural studies scholar, lived in Colombia for over 10 years, visits the Kogi regularly in their homeland, and accompanies them as an interpreter.
